From Travnik to Sarajevo
The first Medical Centar facility operates in Travnik — for many years it has provided patients with diagnostic and specialist care. Later a department opened in Novi Travnik.
In 2019 the polyclinic in Sarajevo opened, at Alipašina 45b. The founder of the institution, prof. dr Mithat Asotić, marked the opening by giving the city one hundred free computed tomography examinations.
Today the polyclinic operates in three cities and brings together five areas: the specialist centre, the radiology centre, the dental centre, the biochemistry laboratory and the salt room.
Diagnostic equipment
The polyclinic in Sarajevo is equipped with a Siemens Symphony 1.5 T Tim system magnetic resonance scanner. The unit performs spectroscopy — a method that makes it possible to distinguish tumour from non-tumour changes without a biopsy.
In addition to magnetic resonance imaging, doctors have at their disposal a computed tomography scanner, X-ray, a mammography unit, ultrasound units with 3D and 4D modes, equipment for endoscopic examinations and for electroneuromyography.
The dental centre has its own X-ray diagnostics and a CAD/CAM laboratory for the production of ceramic restorations.
